The Bind is obsessed by people who read books. It worships people who sell books. It is bowled over by people who write books. But it doesn’t like reading book reviews when it could be reading books or talking to any of the above. The Bind is about lives lived eating, sleeping and breathing books. Oh, and reading a few, too.

Hi Amy,
I thought I would get in touch as something rather special is happening within the world of commuter press in London.
Choose What You Read are a non-profit organisation that came up with the idea to hand out books at tube stops, rather than free papers.
This was primarily a reaction against the generic celebrity spun press that are circulated and a movement towards good olde book readin’.
-Oh I can see that you’re Facebooked on it too – I’ll stop spinning a yarn for you as your familiar!
I’m doing some freelancing for them at the moment and I’m helping to organise a press / publishers / friends and family evening, this Monday, 15th June in London. The event is at the Proud gallery, Camden (The Horse Hospital in Stables Market), Chalk Farm Road, Camden Town, NW1 8AH, 19:30 – 23:30.
It would be awesome if you could come as some further online coverage is desired. So far we have contacts from Timeout, The Guardian/broadsheets, choice authors (I can’t tell you the names, but you will have read them), BBC and literary agents/ publishers. It would also be a perfect opportunity for you to smooze with alternative Bind/futurepress motives.
Do let me know and I can pull some strings.
Tim
